Oscar Taggart

Oscar began dancing lessons at the age of 7 with Linda Shaw in Wollongong. He's been a participant in the ITP program with the Australian Ballet School from 2019-2023.He performed child roles in The Australian Ballet Productions of Sylvia(2019) and Harlequinade(2022).

He placed 2nd in the Ballet Teacher's Workshop in 2022. He reached the semi-finals of the Alana Haines Competition in Wellington New Zealand in 2023 and received a scholarship offer for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in Canada - pre-professional summer school program. 

He Received full marks -100% in his Cecchetti Exam in 2023 and won the Cecchetti scholarship award. He was a finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod in 2023 and subsequently received short-term scholarship offers for The Houston Ballet School and The Queensland Ballet School.

He placed second in the Youth American Grand Prix Semi-Finals in Sydney (2023), receiving scholarship offers from Alberta Ballet School, Canada, Berlin State Ballet School, Germany,  John Cranko School, Germany, Princess Grace Academy, Monaco and The Harid Conservatory, USA.

He is currently a full-time student at Alegria Dance Studios in Sydney under the tutelege of Hilary Kaplan and Archibald MacKenzie.
